Relax!!!! Be in the moment, not in the photo. Sounds counter-intuitive, but it makes all the difference in the world. Stop thinking ‘my picture is being taken, my picture is being taken’!!!!! When you are nervous, it shows through the camera. Let the excitement of what these pictures mean, translate through the lens. You are taking these pictures to document a HUGE MILESTONE...your senior year of High School and all the "blood, sweat and tears" it took to get you to this point. So, take a moment to relax, breath, and have fun with it. Why do we always take ourselves so seriously? Smiles and laughter look good on anyone and everyone! You may feel silly or awkward, but a good photographer will help you feel comfortable...naturally and easily. I personally am a HUGE NERD and am willing to do whatever it takes, I am even willing to make a fool of myself in order to get the subject to a point of comfort, amusement, and genuine expression. Even if you are going for a more serious look, by getting some laughter going, your experience will be a good one regardless. So, there you have it, tip #2 on how to rock your senior session!
