How to Have a Successful Portrait Session with pets part 3
Feb 17, 2020 | By: AP Senior Portraits
Photo sessions are about capturing the personality of you and your pet. What is it that your pet enjoys most? Is it the water, sleeping, walks or trail rides with your horse, or just playing endless rounds of fetch with Fido? If they don’t often sit still, don’t count on a session with many posed portraits and vice versa. Although, I do know ways to get their attention, however, I want to capture their true personality as well as yours. So, If they are not energetic don’t expect amazing jump shots. When you focus on their quirks, you will capture who they really are.
If I’ve said it once, I’ve said it a million times. Relax. I know this is easier said than done, but it’s so important. If you are stressed out, the people involved in your session and your furry family will pick up on it and it will make them feel stressed too. As an experienced photographer with both people and our pets, I have seen it all. Nothing phases me and nothing should bother you either. Relax and let everyone be themselves. Very often, the quirks and behavior that make you feel stressed are the very things that make your photo session memorable and allow me to capture the true nature of all family members.
