Brandy is my senior of the week!!! This week I am happy to feature a senior from Brighton or “B town!” as those of us in Brighton Colorado like to call it. Brandy is a sweet girl with an amazing personality. She is a natural in front of the camera and was quite the trooper for her session in the 90 plus degree heat. Brandy wanted both an urban and nature look, so we started with the urban look on Pearl street, and the surrounding areas. We walked all over the place and ended in…literally in… Boulder creek. After that, we drove to one of my favorite places to shoot. It is a park/open space in Boulder and has some of the most amazing sunsets I have seen. At this park, we “braved” fields, cow pies, spiders and jumping fish. I am always cautious about going into fields and such, hoping no “critters” are lurking under the grasses. I do try to be the first into a field thinking I would rather run into an animal myself vs having my senior run into it and freak out. As a matter of fact, I have run into my share of spiders, mice and bull snakes, but fortunately no rattle snakes…yikes. One request I get periodically is the lake/sunset shot, and Brandy was no exception. I am always up for this shot as it is one of my favorites! So, we went forward, navigating the mud, fish and insects. I am usually sitting in the mud as a matter of fact, along with the spiders on the shore, directing where the light needs to be as well as the students pose/position. We spent almost 4 hours total creating all the looks she had hoped for, and I think they turned out great. So great that I have her image on my website and on some of my marketing pieces! Brandy is set to Graduate with the class of 2018 and I wish her all the best in her future endeavors.
