This week’s blog is about my senior model shoot…Prom dress! So, this was an adventure to say the least. I was able to reserve a really old warehouse that was said to have a history of being haunted. I was not sure how everything would turn out, combining prom dresses with a creepy old warehouse, but I think I was able to create some unique looks in the end. On this blog, I am sharing the group shot, which is designed to resemble the “brides maids” look (for those of you familiar with the movie.) We also added our two guys as “body guards” to complete the look.
I need to give a special shout out to all the helpers I had that day as well, all of which volunteered their time! First, I had the help of an amazing makeup and hair artist, Pauline Castro, founder of PLC mobile beauty. She did a great job with the girls, changing their look from an urban style for the first shoot of the day, to the prom dress look for the second shoot of the day. I also had the help of several others to include Melissa Malouff, my sister in law Gretchen, and my husband Doug. I think the fact that we were in the Rino district must have had some baring on enlisting all the help I received as we went to a few of the nearby restaurants and pubs after the shoot.
The other prom dress images I am sharing are all of the back of the dress. I have noticed that this year is all about cutouts on the dress and plunging backs! So, I was sure to capture the back of the dress for all the girls. I love how some of the images are more light and airy, and others are more dark and moody. I don’t think this was your typical prom dress shoot, which was my goal! I will be adding more of the images from this shoot as the weeks progress, so keep an eye out!
