Frequently Asked Questions

Session fees.
Our session fees vary depending on the type of session and location of the session. They start at $100.00 and go up from there depending on the type of session. However, if you found us at the Flat Irons Mall, you may have been lucky enough to find a promotional piece with a complimentary session on it. Your session fee is required to book as well as a reservation fee which will be applied to your portrait order. Please have a credit card ready when you call or drop a check in the mail.

How long will my session be?
Usually one hour and up to five hours for some of our senior high school students wanting the "full shebang"!

When do I get to see my images?
You will get to see your images around one week after your session depending on availability. They will be projected larger than life in our portrait consultation room. Shilo will help you with all of your final decisions from what size portrait to location in the house that would work best. She is truly a specialist at this and because she was previously a client, she can relate to and anticipate any questions you may have.

Can I bring my kids to the "portrait order date" appointment?
We want you to have a chance to relax and concentrate on the amazing portraits you will have to choose from. Therefore, you might want to arrange childcare for children under the age of 10. Or we can schedule a time when your children are in school.

Who should come with me to the "portrait order date" appointment?
Please feel free to bring as many people as you would like. Most importantly bring anyone who is an intraoral part of the decision making for the family. Plus, don’t worry, if you have family out of town, we will be happy to send you any low-resolution images that you have purchased. This will allow your family to select from them and will prevent them from feeling overwhelmed with too many images to consider.

When is payment due on my order?
50% of your order is due at the time the order is placed. However, we do have a variety of payment plans available at no interest for your convenience.

I can’t wait! When do I get to bring everything home?
Quality takes time, so please allow 4-8 weeks from your order date for completion of your order. Custom designs, orders with framing and especially custom heirloom albums will take longer. But it is worth the wait!

What is the style of photography you have to offer?
We know it is hard not to be nervous in front of the camera, but it can be done and happens here all the time! We strive to capture expressions, personalities, moments and stories. We encourage your child or family to play, laugh, and hug-anything that shows real emotion and love in life, and we want to capture those times for you! Whoever we are photographing, we want them to feel comfortable – comfortable enough for their real personality to be captured. We have to laugh; so basically, we have to act like complete goofballs sometimes so our subjects can relax and have fun.

What about clothing?
Yes, clothing is important! But we love everything from naked babies to layered looks, to high fashion sophistication. You don’t always have to wear white or black – color is great when it is mixed correctly. Bold patterns can work as well if we are going for something fun. This is why a pre portrait session consultation is extremely helpful.

Portrait design consultations:
A design consultation is very important prior to your portrait session. Our photography is artistically conceived and planned in advance to ensure that the finished portrait is a true reflection of the subject’s personality. Along with the usual review of clothing, make-up and style, we will discuss the personality traits of those being photographed as well as their relationship with one another. We prefer to do this in person at our studio so you can view samples and we can sit down and talk about the feel you want for your images. We understand that sometimes you cannot make it in and in those situations Audrey will be happy to do a phone consultation. This preparation is extremely important and makes the session day go smoothly.

It’s an original - What makes an Audrey Imfeld portrait special?
No matter what the artists talent, without a vision for what they desire to accomplish, their work is short of potential. We pride ourselves in knowing what we do and do not want. Our vision is to create emotionally based portraits that "speak" of what is truly important in life. We take an extensive amount of time to digitally enhance each and every portrait that leaves our studio. We use several labs depending on the product we are working on, all of which are dedicated to producing items for professional portrait artists only. Then, each portrait is inspected and the larger pieces signed and dated by the artist.
